Bodybuilding Animal Abusing Asshats

Speaking of body builders, anyone who makes an art of developing their own body but will starve animals until they look like the living dead needs to burn in hell.  I mean that.  I can almost get behind really wanting to perfect the human form.  Sure, why not. But it should connect to a general desire for the wellbeing of all.

And most especially for the well being of domestic animals that are delivered, just by being a member of their species, into a state of absolute vulnerability.  Any animal we take responsibility for is utterly an completely dependent on our compassion and out conscientious care.  And this is what these asshats did to their horse.

Perfecting the body can be an exercise in art. Perfecting your own body while a helpless animal starves to death right in front for you is a exercise in pure unadulterated narcissism. And of the body building community has any integrity whatsoever they will turn on this couple and repudiate them as loudly and publicly as possible. Including banning them from every contest, publication or other form of recognition that community/industry has on offer.

Regardless, they need to be prosecuted the fullest extent that the law allows. And for every lame ass excuse they make, a year should be added to he sentence.

Nipples Dress

That dress by Rachel Freire, what there is of it, is apparently made from cow nipples.  Specifically the bits of the skin not normally used because nipples are on them (close up here). I am not sure why many considered this a big deal.  If using leather is normal this is just using the off cuts.

Maybe people just like to type the word nipple.

Kea Serial Killer

Some one is shooting the Keas, a much loved New Zealand parrot. A total of six dead birds have been found, out of an estimated total population of less than 1000.

I hope the cops catch this bastard soon.  An apt punishment might involve being staked out naked in Kea territory.

Everyone else in the Blogoverse has been having fun with Google Ngram.  This program tracks the relative rate at which different words are used in all of the books scanned by Google Books.  So here is one of my searches for the relative mention made of men, women, children and animals.  Only since the 1980s has it actually been 'women and children first'.... (Click figure to enlarge).

Crushingly Dull

New Zealand's Next to Model show seems to think it is cool to spoof 'crush' videos (fetish material where women in heels squash small animals to death). In this case all that is getting squashed is a toy animal but this is just the last in a long line of fashion 'edginess'.  It is boring, tawdry and pointless.  Crush is not cool and it is not funny, in any form.

The Snake

Most images in art of a woman and a snake are Eve, and the snake is a force of evil.  Which is all a bit hard on the snake... and the woman.  About the only other female figure in art shown with a serpent is Hygieia.

Hygieia is the daughter of the god of Medicine, Asklepius--Goddess of preserving health and leanliness. Like Asklepius she is often pictured with the snake, and also a medicine bowl.  Because snakes dwell in the earth they were seen as representing the soul and the wisdom of ancestors dwelling in Hades (the sleeping place of all the dead, not the Christian place for punishing the non-righteous.)

In my opinion we need fewer portraits of Eve, and more of Hygieai.

Papo apparently has a familiar perspective on the role of a woman on a farm.

That said, isn't odd that dogs are generally seen as masculine, cats as feminine.

p.s. my Halloween outfit is a puppy dog costume. Puppy dog, the "puppy" is important.
