Lays "all natural" BLT chips are described as containing a "delicious blend of bacon, ripe tomatoes and cool lettuce".
Lays BLT chips actually contain, as the 8th ingredient, "natural bacon type flavor"
Digging around in other ingredient list I find that "bacon type flavor" is normally made of:some combination of
sunflower oil
smoke flavor (?)
Hydrolyzed Corn Soy Wheat Gluten Protein (?)
Maltodextrin
Autolyzed Yeast Extract
Soy, Corn and Wheat Protein
and the ubiquitous other "natural flavors" (???)
Other natural flavors are...? Some rendered pig fat possibly? or...?
As ingredient lists go, this is a bit useless as I am left fundamentally unsure whether one, or more, of the four allegedly key ingredients are actually used in the product at all.
And don't even get me started on "lettuce type flavor".

It's a potato chip. You can't really be nitpicking about the ingredients.
If they intend me to eat them, I like to know what they are made of.
You have to read the labels. You might notice some other issues with Potato Chips if you think about it.
Processed food. Potato chips. Read the labels and its a tour down chemical additive lane. armorroI make my own. I know exactly what's in them.
Might be the meat just something to make it interesting to promote
of all the things you want to label read... Lays potato chips are fairly low on my list of healthy choices... Oh you wanted meat in them too? How about some pig knuckle for flavor, yum-yum.
Keep on blogging in the free world!
Yes! Just give me some actual bacon. Hopefully, the pigs are raised in a sustainable fashion without chemicals, hormones, antibiotics, etc. Also, don't fuck with their genes!
"natural bacon type flavor" lol
that's for a potato-chip-like artificially manufactured food imitation !
